  • Semolina (rawa/suji)
    1 cup
  • Yogurt
    1 cup
  • Ginger paste
    1/2 tablespoon
  • Green chilli paste
    1/2 tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder
    a pinch
  • Salt
    to taste
  • Soda bicarbonate
    1/4 tablespoon
  • Oil
    2 tablespoon
  • Mustard seeds
    1/4 tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds
    1/4 tablespoon
  • Curry leaves
    10-12
  • Onion chopped
    1 large
  • Tomato sauce
    as required
  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • Nylon sev
    as required

Method

Step 1


In a large bowl mix together semolina, yogurt, ginger paste, green chilli paste, turmeric powder and salt and mix well. Add water and soda and mix well.

Step 2


Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves and saute for a minute.

Step 3


Pour in the batter and cover the pan and cook on high heat for five minutes and then lower the heat and cook for more five minutes.

Step 4


Open the lid and turn the cake and simmer for ten minutes.Remove and put the cake on a plate.

Step 5


Put sauce on top. Put onions, coriander leaves and nylon sev and cut into small pieces and serve.
