Set Curd Rice

History of Indian cuisine dates back to nearly 5,000-years ago when various groups and cultures interacted with India that led to a diversity of flavours and regional cuisines.

Ingredients for Set Curd Rice Recipe

  • Yogurt 2 tablespoons

  • Kolam Rice 3 cups

  • Milk 3 cups

  • Onions 3 medium

  • Green chillies 2

  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Heat milk in a deep non stick pan till lukewarm. Chop onions and green chillies in a chopper and transfer into a bowl. Add rice and mix.

Step 2

Add a little salt and mix. Divide rice equally in individual bowls.Add yogurt to lukewarm milk and mix well. Pour into each bowl till it rises a little above the level of rice.

Step 3

When the curd sets, keep the bowls in the refrigerator to chill. Serve chilled.
