Ingredients for Red Pepper Hummus Recipe

  • Red Bell Pepper (capsicum) halved 2 medium

  • Chickpeas boiled and peeled 1 cup + for topping floret

  • Tahini (sesame paste) 2 1/2 tablespoons

  • Garlic cloves 3-4

  • Lemon juice 1 teaspoon

  • Olive oil 8 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Red chilli powder for sprinkling

  • Pita bread for serving


Step 1

Place red bell pepper halves in an air fryer and roast at 200º C for 8-9 minutes.

Step 2

Put boiled chickpeas and tahini in a chopper jar with garlic cloves, lemon juice, 4 tbsps olive oil and 1 tbsp water and process.

Step 3

Roughly chop roasted bell pepper and add to the jar and grind again. Add salt and grind till smooth.

Step 4

Transfer the hummus into a serving bowl. Sprinkle red chilli powder, top with boiled chickpeas, drizzle remaining olive oil and serve with pita bread.
