Ingredients for Pepper Rawas Tikka Recipe

  • Indian salmon (rawas) fillets 500 grams

  • Black pepper powder for coating

  • Salt to taste

  • Juice of 2 lemons

  • Ginger paste 1 teaspoon

  • Garlic paste 1 teaspoon

  • Carom seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Roasted gram flour 2 tablespoons

  • Hung yogurt ½ cup + 1 tablespoon

  • Garam masala powder 1 tablespoon

  • White pepper powder 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Olive oil 1 tbsp + for brushing and spraying

  • Spring onion bulbs 3

Method

Step 1

Cut the fish into 2 inch cubes and place on a plate. Add salt, juice of 1 lemon, ginger paste, garlic paste, carom seeds and gram flour and mix well. Add ½ cup hung yogurt and mix well.

Step 2

Add garam masala powder, white pepper powder and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 2 hours.

Step 3

Add 1 tbsp olive oil and mix well.

Step 4

Heat a Gas Oven Tandoor (GOT) and brush with some olive oil.

Step 5

Spread black pepper powder on a plate. Coat the marinated fish in it, place in the Gas Oven Tandoor (GOT), spray some olive oil on top, cover and cook till fully done.

Step 6

To make salad, slice spring onion bulbs and place in a bowl. Add salt, 1 tbsp hung yogurt and mix well. Set aside.

Step 7

Prepare a bed of salad on a serving platter, put the fish tikka on it, drizzle juice of remaining lemon on top and serve hot.
