Ingredients for Oven-Fried Chicken And Cornmeal Crust Recipe

  • Boneless chicken breasts 400 grams

  • Cornmeal 1 cup

  • Refined flour (maida) 4 tablespoons

  • Cornflour/ corn starch 2 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • White pepper powder 1 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Crushed red chillies 1 teaspoon

  • Lemon juice 2 tablespoons

  • Garlic crushed 1 teaspoon

  • Egg whites 2

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 180°C. Mix refined flour, cornstarch, salt, white pepper powder, red chilli powder, crushed red chillies, 1 tsp lemon juice and crushed garlic well.

Step 2

Add egg whites and whisk till smooth.Make a few slits on the chicken breasts. Sprinkle salt and remaining lemon juice and rub in well. Coat each chicken breast with the prepared flour mixture.

Step 3

Mix cornmeal and salt and spread on a plate. Roll the chicken pieces in it and press gently so that the cornmeal coats the chicken completely.

Step 4

Shake off excess cornmeal and arrange them in a baking dish. Spray a little oil and cook in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes. Spray oil in between once. Serve hot.
