Nasi Goreng Recipe - how to make Nasi Goreng


Prep Time : 16-20 minutes

Cook time : 11-15 minutes

  • Cooked rice 3 cups

  • Boneless chicken cut into thin strips250 grams

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Onion chopped1 medium

  • Green chillies chopped2

  • Garlic chopped2 cloves

  • Leek chopped1

  • Coriander seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Cumin powder 1 teaspoon

  • Eggs 3

  • Prawns (kolambi/jhinga) shelled and deveined250 grams

  • Soy sauce 3 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste


Step 1

Break eggs in a bowl, add salt and whisk well.

Step 2

Heat a non stick pan and make omelettes. Slice into thin stripes and set aside.

Step 3

Heat oil in a wok, add onions, green chillies, garlic, and leeks. Saute till soft.

Step 4

Add coriander seeds and cumin powder. Saute for 2 minutes.

Step 5

Add chicken strips and toss for 5 minutes.Add prawns add cook for 3 minutes.

Step 6

Add cooked rice, omelette pieces, soy sauce and salt.

Step 7

Toss well and cook further for 5 minutes with little water. Serve hot.
