By Sanjeev Kapoor 30 Oct 2015 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Basmati rice, Ghee Cuisine Karnataka Course Rice Prep Time 26-30 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Naikulu 1 1/2 cups Basmati rice 1/2 cup Ghee 1 inch piece Cinnamon 4 Cloves 6 Green cardamoms 2 medium Onions,sliced 10-12 cloves Garlic,sliced 1/4 cup Cashewnuts 1/4 cup Raisins to taste Salt 2 teaspoon Sugar Method Soak rice in three cups of water for twenty minutes. Drain and set aside. Heat ghee in a pan, add cinnamon, cloves and green cardamoms and sauté on medium heat. Add onions and garlic and sauté for another two minutes. Add cashewnuts and raisins and sauté for another minute. Add drained rice and mix well. Add salt and sugar and three cups of water. Cover and cook till the rice is done. Serve as an accompaniment with any curry.
