Ingredients list for Mixed Raita

  • 1 1/2 cups Yogurt
  • 1/2 cup Carrot grated
  • 1/2 cup Radish grated
  • 1/2 cup Tomatoes chopped
  • 2 Green chillies
  • 1 inch piece Ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon Carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Jeera (Cumin Seeds)
  • a pinch Asafoetida (hing)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chana Dal
  • 1/2 teaspoon Urad dal

Method

  1. Squeeze the water from grated radish. Blend the green chillies & ginger in a blender.
  2. Now bake the grated carrot, grated radish & tomato pieces in Microwave oven for twenty seconds.
  3. Add yogurt, green chillies paste, ajwain, salt & coriander to the baked mixture and mix well.
  4. Heat oil in a non stick pan add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and hing, when it starts spluttering add split bengal grams, split skinless black grams and saute for a minute.
  5. Add this tempering to the yogurt mixture and serve.
