Mexican Burger  Recipe

The patties are made of red kidney beans covered with mashed potato and vegetable mixture and deep fried.

Mexican Burger

Main Ingredients

Red kidney beans (rajma), Burger buns

  • Red kidney beans (rajma) soaked and boiled
    2 cups
  • Burger buns
  • Onion finely chopped
    1 small
  • Sweet corn kernels boiled
    1/4 cup
  • Carrot grated
    1 small
  • Green chilli paste
    1 teaspoon
  • Ginger-garlic paste
    1 teaspoon
  • Mixed herbs
    1 teaspoon
  • Salt
    to taste
  • Potatoes boiled and mashed
  • Black pepper powder
    1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chilli sauce
    1/2 teaspoon
  • Oil
    for frying
  • Cornflour/ corn starch
    1 cup
  • Butter
    5 teaspoons


Step 1

In a bowl mix together potatoes, corn flour, onion, sweet corn, carrot, green chilli paste, ginger garlic paste, mixed herbs and salt.

Step 2

Mix all the ingredients well. Divide into 5 equal portions. Set aside.

Step 3

In another bowl mash together, kidney beans, black pepper powder, red chilli sauce and salt.

Step 4

Divide into 5 equal portions. Set aside.

Step 5

Make a flat tikki with the potato mixture and place the red kidney bean mixture in the center and cover it well to make a flat sealed tikki. Similarly make the other tikkis.

Step 6

Heat oil in a kadai, deep fry the tikkis till golden brown and crisp.

Step 7

Remove on absorbent paper.Cut the buns horizontally in two.

Step 8

Apply butter on both the breads. Place the fried tikki on one bread and cover with the other bread.

Step 9

Serve immediately with ketchup.
