Laganshaala Recipe - How to make Laganshaala

  • Potatoes cubed3-4 medium

  • Sweet potatoes 2 medium

  • Carrots cubed 2 small

  • Cauliflower 1/2 medium

  • Tomatoes quartered2 medium

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Whole dry red chillies broken2-3

  • Onions sliced2 medium

  • Garlic sliced1 teaspoon

  • Green chillies slit2-3

  • Salt to taste

  • Worcestershire sauce 1 tablespoon

  • Vinegar 1 teaspoon

  • Sugar 1 teaspoon


Step 1

Heat oil in a thick-bottomed pan and add cumin and red chillies. When they begin to change colour add onions and sauté on medium heat for two minutes or till pink.

Step 2

Add garlic and green chillies and sauté further for a minute. Add potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, tomatoes and salt along with two to three cups of water and cover and cook on low heat till almost done.

Step 3

Add Worcestershire sauce, vinegar and sugar, stir and cook for another five to ten minutes till vegetables are done and water is reduced to less than half. Serve hot.
