Ingredients list for Honey Glazed Chicken

  • 400 grams Boneless chicken
  • 3 tablespo Cornflour
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Cornflour/ corn starch
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon MSG
  • 1/2 teaspoon White pepper powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 1/2 cups Chicken stock
  • 2-3 cloves Garlic,finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Red chilli flakes
  • 4 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Roasted sesame seeds
  • 2 stalks Spring onion greens,chopped

Method

  1. Heat sufficient oil in a wok and deep-fry the chicken pieces on high heat for half a minute. Drain on absorbent paper and set aside. Mix together the cornflour, soy sauce, MSG, white pepper powder and salt with chicken stock.
  2. Heat three tablespoons of oil in a wok or a pan, add the garlic and red chilli flakes and stir-fry briefly. Stir in the sauce and spice mixture. Cook for a minute or until the sauce starts to thicken, stirring continuously. Add the fried chicken and honey and cook for a minute, stirring continuously.
  3. Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds and serve hot, garnished with the spring onion greens.
