Ingredients list for Hare Moong ki Chaaswali Khichdi

  • 1 1/2 cups Whole Moong soaked in water for 3-4 hours
  • 2 1/2 cups Buttermilk
  • 1 cup Rice soaked for ½ hour
  • 1 teaspoon Ghee
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 4-5 Cloves
  • 2 medium Carrots cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 4-6 medium Cauliflower florets cut into small florets
  • 3-4 Green chillies slit
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • to taste Salt

  1. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds and cloves and sauté for a minute. Add carrots, cauliflower, moong, green chillies, turmeric powder and rice.
  2. Mix well and add chaas and salt. Mix well, cover and cook till 2 whistles are given out. Lower heat and cook for 5-10 minutes more. Serve hot.
