Rice flour cooked with masalas in milk to form a dough, shaped into rings and deep fried.

Rice flour, Milk

  • Rice flour
    2 cups
  • Milk
    1 cup
  • Onion
    1 medium
  • Coconut grated
    1 cup
  • Turmeric powder
    a pinch
  • Cumin seeds
    1 teaspoon
  • Asafoetida
    a pinch
  • Green chillies chopped
  • Salt
    to taste
  • Oil
    to deep fry


Step 1

Boil milk in a non stick pan. Blend together onion, coconut, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, Asafetida and green chillies till smooth. Add it to the boiling milk.

Step 2

Add the rice flour and salt and mix till a soft dough is formed. Remove from heat.Divide the dough into small equal portions and roll into balls.

Step 3

Wet your hands and roll a portion of the dough into a cylindrical shape. Join the edges to form small rings.Heat oil in a kadai and deep fry all the rings till crisp and golden.Remove on absorbent paper and serve hot with cheese dips.
