Ingredients for Crackling Spinach Recipe

  • Spinach 3 medium bunches

  • Oil to deep fry

  • Sesame oil (til oil) 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Sugar 1 tablespoon

  • Crushed red chillies 1 teaspoon

  • Sesame seeds (til) toasted 1 teaspoon

Method

Step 1

Trim the stem and use only the spinach leaves. Wash them under running water. Dry well. Stack them one on top of the other, fold and shred finely.

Step 2

Heat sufficient oil in a wok, add the shredded spinach leaves and deep fry till crisp and dark green in colour. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 3

Transfer onto a serving plate. Sprinkle salt, sugar, crushed red chillies and toasted sesame seeds and serve immediately.
