Corn was indigenous to America, but is now grown throughout the world. It is used as a vegetable, briefly boiled or roasted or eaten with butter. And it would also interest you to know that the favourite popcorn, made by popping the small corn kernels, is a wholesome cereal food and is easily digested. Besides this, corn sees its use in various other ways – salads, soups, subzis and even sweets too!

Ingredients for Corn Pakora Recipe

  • Corn kernels 250 grams

  • Gram flour (besan) 5-6 tablespoons

  • Green chilli paste 2 teaspoons

  • Ginger paste 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Chaat masala 1 teaspoon

  • Coriander powder 1 teaspoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil to deep fry


Step 1

Coarsely grind the corn kernels. Place the corn mixture in a large bowl.

Step 2

Add green chilli paste, ginger paste, chaat masala, coriander powder, coriander leaves, gram flour and salt. Mix well.

Step 3

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Drop small portions of the corn mixture and deep fry the pakoras till golden brown on both sides.

Step 4

Drain and place on an absorbent paper. Serve hot with green chutney.
