Corn was indigenous to America, but is now grown throughout the world. It is used as a vegetable, briefly boiled or roasted or eaten with butter. Ingredients for Corn Halwa

  • Corn kernels 3/4 cup

  • Ghee 4 teaspoons

  • Milk 1/2 cup

  • Sugar 1 cup

  • Saffron (kesar) 8-10

  • Green cardamom powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Almonds chopped 5-6

  • Pistachios chopped 5-6

Method

Step 1

Grind the corn kernels without adding water.

Step 2

Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Add corn and saute till it becomes golden brown in color.

Step 3

Add milk and sugar and keep stirring continuously on low heat till the mixture leaves the side of the pan.

Step 4

Add saffron, green cardamom powder, almonds and pistachios and mix well. Serve hot.
