Coffee Sauce

Coffee powder, brown sugar and fresh cream cooked with butter to make a delicious sauce. This can be used as a topping with dessert of your choice. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe.

Ingredients 

  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee powder
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar/jaggery
  • 1 cup fresh cream
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter

Method

  1. Put coffee powder in a microwave safe bowl and add 1 tablespoon water to it. Place in the microwave for 1 minute to make a decoction. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Combine brown sugar and 1 teaspoon water in a non-stick pan. Let the sugar caramelize.
  3. Add cream and stir continuously on low heat till everything is mixed well.
  4. Add coffee decoction and mix well. Add butter and mix well for 1 minute.
  5. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
  6. Serve with your choice of dessert.
