Choco Almond Muffin

During the 18th and 19th centuries, the Americans developed a number of new foods.  What characterised the American cuisine is the adaptation of a fusion of multiple ethnic cooking styles. During this period food production and presentation became more industrialised.

  • Cocoa powder 4 tablespoons

  • Almonds coarsely ground2 tablespoons

  • Almonds chopped10-12

  • Eggs 4

  • Sugar 1 cup

  • Refined flour (maida) 3 tablespoons

  • Butter melted4 tablespoons


Step 1

Preheat oven to 180ºC. Break eggs into a bowl.

Step 2

Add sugar and blend with a hand blender till frothy. Sieve refined flour and cocoa powder into a bowl. Add coarsely ground almonds and mix.

Step 3

Add this flour mixture gradually to the eggs, mixing with the blender continuously. Add melted butter and mix.

Step 4

Pour the batter into muffin moulds till half full. Sprinkle chopped almonds on top and bake in the preheated oven for twenty to twenty five minutes.

Step 5

Serve hot.
