Ingredients for Chai Cake Recipe

  • Earl grey tea decoction 125 millilitres

  • Refined flour (maida) 125 grams + for dusting

  • Butter 100 grams + for greasing

  • Castor sugar 15 grams

  • Condensed milk 200 grams

  • Baking soda 1/2 teaspoon

  • Baking powder 1 teaspoon


Step 1

Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a cake tin with some butter and dust with some flour.

Step 2

Put butter and castor sugar into a bowl and whisk till light and fluffy. Add condensed milk and tea and whisk till well mixed.

Step 3

Sift together flour, baking soda and baking powder into the mixture and fold to form a smooth batter.

Step 4

Pour batter into the prepared tin, level and place the tin in the preheated oven and bake for twenty to twenty-two minutes.

Step 5

Remove from heat and cool down to room temperature. Cut into your choice of shapes and serve.
