Why is it that when you are stuck at “what should we cook today” the answer is always “make some aloo!” Potatoes are like this…extremely popular and have multipurpose usage.

And did you always think that eating a potato will make you fat?
Well, don’t – it is a surprising source of vitamin C and provides useful amounts of starch, thiamine and niacin and around a hundred grams will provide about eighty calories.

Ingredients for Causa de Atun Recipe

  • Potatoes mashed 2 cups

  • Tuna tinned 1 cup

  • Crushed black peppercorns 1/2 teaspoon

  • Fresh parsley chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Mayonnaise 1/4 cup

  • Onion chopped 1 small

  • Fresh jalapeno paste 1 tablespoon

  • Egg hard boiled and sliced 1

  • Black olives sliced 8-10

Method

Step 1

Combine potatoes, salt, crushed peppercorns and parsley in a bowl and mix well.

Step 2

Combine tuna, mayonnaise, onion, jalapeno paste salt in another bowl and mix well.

Step 3

Place a large ring mould on a serving plate. Add the potato mixture in it and level it out. Spread a layer of tuna mixture on top and remove the ring mould.

Step 4

Garnish with boiled egg slices and black olives and serve immediately.
