Ingredients for Caramelized Pepper Chicken Recipe

  • Chicken Legs 400 grams

  • Black Pepper Powder 2 tablespoons

  • Black pepper powder 2 1/2 teaspoons

  • Oil 1 teaspoon

  • Garlic cloves 2

  • Dark soy sauce 1 teaspoon

  • Orange zest 1 tablespoon + for garnishing

  • Salt to taste

  • Spring onion with greens sliced 2

  • Five spice powder 2 teaspoons

  • Juice of 1 orange

  • Orange marmalade 1 tablespoon

  • Vinegar 1/2 teaspoon

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Crush garlic cloves and add alongwith brown sugar and soy sauce, mix well and let the sugar caramelize.

Step 2

Add chicken and cook for a minute. Flip chicken pieces and cook. Add 1 tbsp orange zest, salt, spring onion with greens and five spice powder and flip pieces again.

Step 3

Add orange juice, cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Step 4

Remove cover, flip chicken pieces and add pepper powder, orange marmalade and vinegar and mix well. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes.

Step 5

Serve hot garnished with orange zest.
