How many times have we thought rice is a blessing? We use it for holy purposes but we also can pressure up a quick pulao or khichdi when hunger pangs are drumming away! This is one grain that is about 98% percent digestible. Bhakri Recipe - How to make Bhakri


Prep Time : 6-10 minutes

Cook time : 11-15 minutes

Serve : 4

Level Of Cooking : Medium


  • Rice flour 2 cups + for dusting

  • Drumstick leaves blanched and drained1 cup

  • Bhuna masala 50 grams

  • Salt to taste

  • White butter as required


Step 1

Finely chop drumstick leaves and place them in a bowl. Add rice flour, bhuna masala, salt and mix well.

Step 2

Add hot water as required and knead into soft dough. Cover with a damp cloth and rest for a couple of minutes.

Step 3

Heat a non-stick tawa.

Step 4

Divide the dough into equal sized balls. Dust each of them with a little dry rice flour and flatten into small bhakris.

Step 5

Place one bhakri at a time on hot tawa and cook, turning sides, till evenly golden on both sides.

Step 6

Transfer the bhakris on a serving plate. Put a dollop of white butter on each bhakri and serve hot.
