Ingredients list for Banana and Oats Cake
- 3 Bananas peeled and pureed
- 1/2 cup Oats
- Refined flour (maida) 1 cup + for dusting
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
- to taste Salt
- Melted butter 6 tablespoons + for greasing
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
- 1 cup Castor sugar
- 1/2 cup Buttermilk
- 2 Eggs
Method
- Preheat oven to 180º C. Grease 2 cake tins with butter and dust with some flour.
- Sift together flour, baking powder and baking soda into a bowl. Add salt and oats and mix well.
- Add butter, banana puree and vanilla essence and mix well. Add castor sugar and mix well.
- Add buttermilk and mix till well blended. Add eggs and mix well to a smooth batter.
- Divide the batter equally into 2 cake tins and spread evenly and thinly. Place the tins in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Remove from oven and cool down to room temperature. Remove the cake from the tins, cut into wedges and serve.
