Ingredients for Banana Chocolate Chip Cake Recipe

  • Banana Puree 1 cup

  • Chocolate Chips 150 grams

  • Refined flour (maida) 1 1/2 cups + for dusting

  • Salt 1 teaspoon

  • Baking soda 1 teaspoon

  • Castor sugar 3/4 cup

  • Butter 1/2 cup

  • Eggs 2

  • Vanilla essence 1 teaspoon

  • Brown sugar 1/4 cup

  • Yogurt whisked 1/2 cup

  • Oil for greasing

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 180º C.

Step 2

Sift together refined flour, salt and baking soda into a large mixing bowl. Add sugar and mix well. Add butter and mix well. Break eggs and add. Add vanilla essence, yogurt and mix well.

Step 3

Add banana puree and mix well. Add brown sugar and beat with electric beater till smooth. Reserve some chocolate chips and add the rest and mix well.

Step 4

Grease a cake tin with oil and dust with some refined flour. Pour the batter into the tin and spread reserved chocolate chips on top.

Step 5

Put the cake tin in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes.

Step 6

Remove the cake from the tin, cool down to room temperature, cut into wedges, arrange on a serving platter and serve immediately.
