Bajra Nu Bachku

Main Ingredients

Bajra, Split green gram with skin (chilkewali moong dal)

  • Bajra
    1 cup
  • Split green gram with skin (chilkewali moong dal)
    1/4 cup
  • Small grained rice (kanki)
    1/4 cup
  • Salt
    to taste
  • Carom seeds (ajwain)
    1/2 tablespoon
  • Ginger paste
    1/2 teaspoon
  • Green chilli paste
    1 teaspoon
  • Buttermilk
    8 cups
  • Ghee
    1/4 cup


Step 1

Combine bajra, moong dal and rice and grind them coarsely. Transfer into a bowl.

Step 2

Add salt, carom seeds, ginger paste, green chilli paste, buttermilk and whisk to mix well. Transfer the mixture into a pan and cook, stirring continuously till it reaches a thick consistency.

Step 3

Dribble ghee from top and serve hot.
