By Sanjeev Kapoor 17 Dec 2015 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Sprouted Green gram, Rice Cuisine Indian Course Rice Prep Time 31-40 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Sprouted Moong Khichdi 1 1/2 cups Sprouted Green gram 1 cup Rice 1 teaspoon Pure ghee 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds 1 inch stick Cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1/2 tablespoon Black peppercorns crushed 3-4 Green chillies slit 2 medium Carrots 1 inch pieces 1 small Cauliflower cut into florets to taste Salt Method Heat ghee in a non stick pan and add cumin seeds. Stir-fry over high heat till they change colour. Add cinnamon, turmeric powder, crushed peppercorns and green chillies and stir-fry for a while. Add the carrots and cauliflower and mix well. Drain and add the soaked rice and salt to taste, stir briefly and add two and half cups of water. Bring the rice to a rapid boil, add the sprouted moong, reduce heat and simmer for fifteen to twenty minutes, stirring frequently or until the rice is lightly mashed and completely cooked. Serve hot.
