Ingredients list for Sabut Pyaz ki Sabzi

  • 8-10 Small onions peeled
  • 4 tablespoons Oil
  • 2 medium Medium tomatoes quartered
  • 7-8 Garlic cloves
  • 1 inch Ginger roughly chopped
  • 1-2 Green chillies slit
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 Dried red chilli
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Red chilli powder
  • 2 tablespoons Yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon Tata Sampann Kitchen King Masala
  • for garnish Green chillies sliced

Method

  1. Make incisions on the top and bottom of the onions.
  2. Heat 2 tbsps oil in a non-stick pan, add the onions and sauté, turning them, till they turn golden brown all around.
  3. Put the tomatoes into a mixer jar, add garlic cloves, ginger, green chillies and little water and blend to a fine paste.
  4. Heat remaining oil in another non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and red chilli and saute till the seeds change colour.
  5. Add the ground paste and mix well. Add turmeric powder, salt and red chilli powder, mix well, cover and cook for 5-7 minutes or till the oil separates.
  6. Add onions and yogurt and mix well. Add Tata Sampann Kitchen King Masala and mix well. Cover and cook for 1 minute.
  7. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with green chillies and serve hot.
