(09/14/2012)

What happens when a foodie meets a masterchef? A platter of fun, friendly jibes and banter.

When the man who made cooking fashionable, chef Sanjeev Kapoor, came to the city of food lovers with telly actor Ram Kapoor to celebrate the chef's newest vegetarian fine-dining restaurant, Yellow Chilli, Hara Bhara Kebab, Lalla Mussa Dal and Sham Sevara took the front seat. Also in attendance were Tolly stars Locket Chatterjee, June and Koneenica Banerjee. "I used to come to Kolkata a lot in my childhood. But I stopped coming after all those yummy mishtis increased my weight and that's when Ram started coming here," joked Sanjeev, poking fun at Ram's plus-sized physique.

He added that despite being the "Shah Rukh Khan of the small screen, Ram never threw his weight around," inviting loud guffaws from the people in attendance. He also expressed his happiness at the eatery's positive response and reposed his faith in the chefs. "I would never have come to an all-veg restaurant had it not been for my friend," said the telly actor who made plus size sexy on screen.

"We opened this restaurant in Bangur as I live in the north and was fed up of rushing to the south for parties. I wanted to put north on the map and give food lovers from this part of the city a chance to enjoy good food in their vicinity," said Ganesh Kumar Agarwal, chairman and managing director of the restaurant.
