A wholesome meal from the food paradise Rajasthan

Khamma Ghani! Rajasthan is the land of Maharajas. You can’t praise the rich heritage of the state enough and the cuisine is most definitely a big part of it. You can find a plethora of dishes ranging from chatpata snacks and chaats, desi sabzis and flat-breads to class-apart mithais.

So, if you are a foodie and a lover of Desi Khaana, then we have got a perfect Rajasthani meal for you to try!

1. Chaalo shuru kare: Rajasthani’s generally prefer either Kachoris or Pakodes to start their heavy meals with.

Mirchi Pakode: So, here is the recipe of spicy pakode which you are going to enjoy to the fullest. Crunchy and super spicy, Bhavnagri chillies and potatoes are stuffed in these fritters. Sprinkle some chaat masala for a nice tangy twist.

Kadhi Kachori: If you have been to Rajasthan; you know that it is a treat to the eyes watching those garma-garam Kachoris being fried in street food shops. But, this Kadhi Kachori is something exclusive. Flaky kachoris infused into flavourful Kadhi and imli chutney, its taste is unmatchable.

2. Mashhoor Dal-Baati-Churma: Can you think of a better trio? A  Rajasthani meal cannot be complete without this classic. Treat yourself with this authentic recipe, Rajsthani dal with the combination of sweet churma and bite-sized baatis. You have got to slightly cheat on your diets because this dish has loads of ghee and you just cannot resist it for sure. So comforting and so delicious!

3. Mazedaar Main course: These two rich curries have distinct flavours and are a true delight!

Laal Maas: Specially for the non-vegetarains, Laal Maas recipe is perfect. And also, If you like it super spicy, laal maas is just the dish for you! Lots of chillies, chunks of mutton and a smoky flavour to it, this recipe is a must-try.

Shahi Gatte: The Shahi Gatte is made with besan dumplings cooked in rich yoghurt gravy making it a perfect lunch with steaming hot rice. You can also serve these curries piping hot along with Bajre ki roti, the classic flat- bread from this cuisine.

4. Pasandida Pulao: Pulao is a favourite to most of us, and so here are the two Rajasthani pulao recipes for you to have a complete taste of this cuisine.

Gatte Pulao:The Gatte Pulao is made with array of aromatic spices and gram-flour dumplings tossed with rice. Tastes great when served with boondi ka raita.

Jodhpuri Vegetable Pulao: From the city of Jodhpur, this Vegetable Pulao is enriched with dry fruits, fragrant basmati rice and ghee. Pasand aana toh pakka hai!

5. Delectable desserts: As unique as these tasteful desserts are, they carry an exclusive name to it too.

Ghevar, this desi meetha is super fancy look-wise and has an amazing taste as well. A slightly difficult dessert to make but trust me it’s worth it. Don’t forget to top it with some crunchy almonds!

Balushahi, just like the name it has a shahi taste with loads of desi ghee; these bite-sized mithais are a delight for both adults and kids. Iss baar Rakhi ke din jaroor banana aur sabko khilaana!
