And, it’s almost fair to admire this artistic dish that is truly loved by everyone. Even though its origins remain unknown as to whether it originated in China or Japan, it’s enjoyed all around the world. When we say Sushi, people tend to think it’s only about raw fish wrapped in sticky rice but this is more than that, a dish with vinegared rice served alongside various fillings and toppings, including raw fish.

Also, did you know that Sushi was mainly invented to preserve fish? It was originally used as a preservation method where fermented rice was used to store fish for anything up to a year. In ancient days, people used to throw out the rice and only consume the stored fish but later in the 16th century, people used vinegared rice and started to consume the rice as well. Well, that’s news!

But, all sushi recipes don't have fish. Yes, you heard us right! There are tons of variations when it comes to this wonderful dish. So on this Sushi Day why not have a virtual home-making Sushi competition with your friends? Let your fam judge you and declare one of you a ‘sushi master’!
