Hop on a Pancake Tour around the world!

Pancakes are such a sweet, soft, delicious delicacy that is enjoyed all around the world. Some say the Romans and Greeks were the first people to taste this delicacy while others argue that this beauty has an origin in France but some contemplate that Americans might be the ones who got to enjoy it first. Well, does it really matter who ate it first as long as we all were introduced to this heavenly culinary creation? On the joyous occasion of ‘National Pancake Day’, I am here to show you how people eat their pancakes around the world. There is no right or wrong way when it comes to enjoying pancakes and you can always choose to eat it anyway you like!

  1. Americans love pancakes a lil’ too much and they tend to top it with a big cube of butter and ample amount of syrup on their stack!

  2. In France, people like to stuff their pancakes with some spinach, turkey or chicken, mushrooms, and grated parmesan cheese and make it excitingly savoury.

  3. If you wish to visit Canada, you should know that they serve pancakes with delicious maple syrup but you should definitely try their unique buttermilk pancake, a sweet-savoury version with their own twist.

  4. Poffertjes of the Netherlands are mini fluffy pancakes served with butter, icing sugar and sometimes syrup which just melts in your mouth!

  5. Kimchijeon or Kimchi-buchimgae are kimchi pancakes which are satiating savoury pancakes for you, made with potatoes and veggies, all the way from Korea. If you think pancakes are just sweets and desserts then my friend you have to try this one out!

  6. Thailand is famous for its pancakes served with bananas, condensed milk and sometimes, chocolate syrup on the top too! Sounds super delicious, isn’t it?

  7. Indians love to eat their pancakes which are famously known as dosas and are enjoyed with sambhar, a tangy and spicy curry and some chutney prepared with coconuts.

  8. British people love their pancakes to be sweet yet a bit citric and tangy with a splash of lemon juice in it!

  9. Tiganites are Greek pancakes which resemble Greek doughnuts and are crisp-fried. They are generally topped with warm honey, crushed walnuts and some feta cheese!

  10. Palascinta are a hybrid of crepes and pancakes which are extremely popular in Hungary. They are paper-thin pancakes shaped like triangles and stuffed with fruits, nuts, jam or whipped cream.

Happy Pancake Day!
