Cupid loves more than just chocolate!

February is officially the season of love! Valentine’s Day is nearing and we know that love is already in the air. So, are you ready with the classic ways of expressing love to your beloved: read loads and loads of roses (preferably the red ones; but other colours also fit in just right!) and the quintessential love foods, chocolate and strawberries! But, let us tell you, modern cupid needs more than just that. So, we thought of making our list of foods from the world of aphrodisia – these will surely lift your excitement to infinity and turn those moments with your special ones absolutely magical and memorable!

Move over the usual love munchies ‘cuz we’ve got some more of these amazing aphrodisiac foods for a passionate and love-filled V-Day!

Call for some celery!

It might come to you as a surprise but celery is considered as an important libido-lifting food. Some people say it’s because of its shape. But we believe in the scientific facts which states that it contains androstenone, said to be an attractive pheromone and can be counted as natural cologne for men. A bowl of celery soup can actually work like a love potion for lovers!

Oi-oi Oysters!

Oysters are popular aphrodisiac foods. According to folklore, it is said that the legendary Casanova used to eat more than 50 oysters a day so that it could enhance his desires. It has properties of zinc which are said to increase fertility in men. In addition to this, oysters are also packed with other nutrients like iron, vitamins, minerals and many organic compounds, so you can include it in your daily diet for a healthier living.

‘Fig’ured it out, yet?

Figs are known to be one of the most powerful aphrodisiacs but there is still a lot to figure out as to why. Is it because of its appealing shape, texture, aroma or flavour? Is it because it was Cleopatra’s favourite food or is it because Adam and Eve loved this fruit during their times back in the Eden Gardens? There’s still a lot to be discovered on its libido enhancing abilities, but, one thing that we are sure about is that it does work!

Hi honey!

You have to make sure ‘your honey’ gets a bottle of honey home this Valentines. Because it acts as a testosterone booster for both males and females. It also contains boron properties which boosts estrogen levels and in turn regulates hormones in the body. Shahad does have its sensual tricks for us humans.  The rest, we’re leaving up to your imagination!

Saffron, so good!

You might already know the importance of kesar wala doodh in Indian weddings. But, long before this ritual, Cleopatra used to bathe in saffron-infused milk too, for boosting her innate desires. We won’t suggest you to follow her since kesar is super expensive and using it this lavishly might actually burn a hole in your pocket. But, you can still follow the good old Indian tradition or maybe some new ideas of your own!
