Ingredients for Vengaya Kosu Recipe

  • Onion thinly sliced 3

  • Tomatoes chopped 1/2 kilogram

  • Potatoes cubed 4

  • Whole dry red chillies 10

  • Coconut scraped 1/4

  • Aniseeds (saunf) 1/4 teaspoon

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Poppy seeds (khuskhus/posto) 1 tablespoon

  • Split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal) 2 tablespoons

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 teaspoons

Method

Step 1

Dry roast and grind the red chillies, scraped coconut, aniseeds, cumin seeds, poppy seeds and black gram to a fine paste.
