Tomato With Penne Penne cooked in tomato puree By Sanjeev Kapoor 16 Nov 2014 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Penne, Tomato Puree Cuisine Italian Course Noodles and Pastas Prep Time 16-20 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Tomato With Penne 250 grams Penne 1 cup Tomato Puree 3 1/2 tablespoons Olive oil 2 medium Onions sliced 6 cloves Garlic crushed 1 teaspoon Red chilli flakes 1 teaspoon Dry oregano 5-6 Fresh basil leaves roughly torn to taste Salt 1 teaspoon Sugar 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese grated Method Heat the olive oil in a pressure cooker; add the onion and garlic and sauté till light brown. Add the chilli flakes, dried oregano and basil and sauté for one minute. Add the penne and sauté for half a minute. Add the tomato purée, salt, sugar and two cups of water. Seal the cooker with the lid and cook over medium heat till the pressure is released twice (two whistles). Remove the lid when the pressure has reduced completely and transfer the penne to a bowl.
