Ingredients list for Tomato With Penne

  • 250 grams Penne
  • 1 cup Tomato Puree
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 medium Onions sliced
  • 6 cloves Garlic crushed
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Dry oregano
  • 5-6 Fresh basil leaves roughly torn
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese grated

Method

  1. Heat the olive oil in a pressure cooker; add the onion and garlic and sauté till light brown. Add the chilli flakes, dried oregano and basil and sauté for one minute.
  2. Add the penne and sauté for half a minute. Add the tomato purée, salt, sugar and two cups of water. Seal the cooker with the lid and cook over medium heat till the pressure is released twice (two whistles).
  3. Remove the lid when the pressure has reduced completely and transfer the penne to a bowl. Serve hot, garnished with Parmesan cheese.
