Ingredients list for Thengai Arushi Adai

  • 3 cups Rice
  • 1 cup Coconut scraped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Oil

Method

  1. Wash and soak the rice in enough water for 5-6 hours. Drain. Mix the scraped coconut and rice and grind it to a coarse batter.
  2. Add the pepper powder and salt. Mix well. Heat a griddle and grease it. Pour a spoonful of batter in the centre of the griddle and spread evenly.
  3. Pour 1 teaspoon of oil along the edges and cook till crisp. Turn and repeat the procedure. Serve hot.
