Ingredients list for Telangana Avakaya Annam

  • 1 cup Basmati rice cooked
  • 2 teaspoons Mango Pickle
  • 2 teaspoons Ghee
  • 1/4 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 7-8 Curry leaves
  • 3/4 cup Onion
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal)
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped

Method

  1. Mix cooked rice and avakaya pickle in a bowl and keep it aside.
  2. Heat ghee in a non stick pan add curry leaves, mustard seeds and cumin seeds, when it starts spluttering add onions and saute till light brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder and saute for a minute.Add split skinless green grams and saute till light brown.
  4. Add rice and salt and saute for a minute.Serve hot garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
