Ingredients list for Sabzi Palav

  • 1 cup coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 cup Dill leaves (suva)
  • 250 grams Long-grain rice, parbioled and peeled
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 large Onion , sliced finely
  • 8-10 strands Saffron (kesar), crushed
  • 2 tablespoons Pure ghee

Method

  1. Mix coriander leaves, dill leaves, rice and salt.
  2. Put a layer of rice in a thick bottomed non stick pan.
  3. Sprinkle half of the fried onions, half of the saffron and put half of the ghee on top.
  4. Repeat this procedure until all the ingredients are used up. Sprinkle some water on top.
  5. Cover with a lid wrapped in clean cloth and cook on low flame for thirty minutes.
  6. Serve hot.
