  • Raw bananas
    4
  • Onions
    2 medium
  • Oil
    3 tablespoons
  • Mustard seeds
    1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt
    to taste
  • Split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal)
    1/2 teaspoon
  • Split Bengal gram (chana dal)
    1/2 teaspoon
  • Green chillies
    2
  • Curry leaves
    15-20
  • Lemon

  • Coconut grated
    2-3 tablespoons
  • Fresh coriander leaves
    1 tablespoon

Method

Step 1


Trim off stems, halve the bananas and boil them in water with a little salt. Chop onions. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds, urad dal and chana dal and sauté till light brown. Chop green chillies. Add curry leaves and onions to pan and continue to sauté.

Step 2


When bananas are half done, drain them, cool, peel and grate thickly. Add green chillies to onions and sauté for ½ minute. Add grated bananas, salt and mix well. Cook till heated through. Add juice of a lemon and mix. Add coconut and mix.

Step 3


Chop coriander leaves and add. Mix and serve hot.
