Ingredients for Prawns with Onion, Curry Leaves and Chillies Recipe

  • Prawns shelled and deveined 500 grams

  • Onions thinly sliced 3 medium

  • Curry leaves 25-30

  • Green chillies 2

  • Fresh red chilli 1

  • Ginger 2 inch

  • Oil 3 tablespoons

  • Onion seeds (kalonji) 1/4 teaspoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves a few sprigs

  • Salt to taste

  • Black peppercorns freshly ground to taste

  • Lemon 1/2

Method

Step 1

Cut thin strips of ginger. Heat oil in a non stick pan. Diagonally slice green chillies. Add onions seeds, ginger, curry leaves and onions to the pan and saute till lightly browned. Add prawns and saute for 1-2 minutes.

Step 2

Chop a few sprigs of fresh coriander leaves. Add salt to the pan and mix and saute for 1-2 minutes. Add green chillies, red chilli, coriander leaves and a little freshly ground black peppercorns and mix.

Step 3

Squeeze the juice of ½ lemon. Transfer into a serving plate and serve.
