Popeye Pulao

Ingredients list for Popeye Pulao

  • 1 cup Rice soaked and drained
  • 250 grams Spinach
  • 1½ teaspoons Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 medium Onion sliced
  • 6 cloves Garlic crushed
  • 1 Green chilli sliced
  • to taste Salt

Method

  1. Blanch the spinach leaves in hot water for 2 minutes. Drain and puree. Set aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a non-stick deep pan, add the cumin seeds and when they begin to change colour, add the onion and garlic and sauté till translucent.
  3. Add the spinach puree and sauté for about five minutes. Add the rice, green chilli, salt and two cups of water. Bring to a boil, lower the heat and simmer till the rice is done.
  4. Serve hot.
