Ingredients list for Pineapple Fritters

  • 1 medium Pineapple peeled and eyes removed
  • 1 cup Refined flour (maida)
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • a pinch Baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon Green cardamom powder
  • 4 tablespoons Fine sugar
  • as required Milk
  • to deep fry Oil
  • A little Icing sugar
  • A little Chocolate powder

  1. Put refined flour, cornstarch, baking soda, green cardamom powder, fine sugar and sufficient milk in a large bowl and mix well to make a thick batter.
  2. Heat oil on medium heat in a kadai.
  3. Cut pineapple into round slices, remove the hard centre portion. They will now resemble doughnuts.
  4. Put them in the batter and mix so that they are well coated with the batter.
  5. Gently slide into medium hot oil, agitate the oil over the slices and deep fry till golden.
  6. Drain on absorbent paper.
  7. Arrange them on a serving plate and sprinkle icing sugar through a sieve. Now sprinkle chocolate powder through the sieve. Serve hot.
