Paunk Na Wada

Ingredients list for Paunk Na Wada

  • 1 cup Fresh Green Jowar
  • 1 1/2 cups Gram Flour
  • 2 tablespoons Yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • a pinch Soda bicarbonate
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 2 Green chillies chopped
  • a few sprigs Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • to deep fry Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Chaat masala

Method

  1. In a large bowl combine besan, yogurt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, soda bicarbonate and salt along with three fourth cup of water and whisk till smooth to make a batter of dropping consistency.
  2. Add paunk, chopped onion, green chillies and coriander leaves and mix well. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and drop teaspoonfuls of batter in the oil. Deep fry on medium heat till golden and crisp.
  3. Drain onto an absorbent paper. Serve hot sprinkled with chaat masala.
