Ingredients list for Paneer Palak and Cheese Balls

  • 1 cup Paneer (cottage cheese) grated
  • 1 cup Spinach blanched and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Processed cheese grated
  • 4 White bread slices
  • ½ teaspoon Ginger
  • ½ teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 2 Green chillies finely chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Lemon juice
  • for deep-frying Oil
  • for dusting Cornflour/ corn starch

Method

  1. Roughly tear bread slices and grind to make fresh breadcrumbs.
  2. Combine spinach, cottage cheese, processed cheese, ginger, cumin seeds, green chillies, salt and lemon juice in a bowl and mix well. Add fresh breadcrumbs and mix well.
  3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
  4. Divide the spinach mixture into equal portions and shape them into balls. Coat the balls in cornflour, dust-off the excess flour and deep-fry in hot oil till golden. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
