Ingredients list for Oats Upma

  • 1 cup Oats
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Black gram split (urad dal dhuli)
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 inch piece Ginger chopped
  • 2 Green chillies chopped
  • 8-10 Curry leaves
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 5-6 French beans chopped
  • 1 medium Carrot chopped
  • ¼ cup Green peas
  • to taste Salt
  • ½ cup Milk

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add urad dal and sauté till they turn golden brown. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add ginger, green chillies, curry leaves and onion and saute till onions turn light brown.
  3. Add beans, carrot and green peas and mix well. Add salt and mix well. Cook on low heat till vegetables till cooked.
  4. Add oats and mix well. Add milk and cover and cook for two minutes.
  5. Serve hot.
