Ingredients list for Mutton Chops Chinese Style

  • 500 grams Mutton chops
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dark soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic minced
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon Vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Castor sugar (caster sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil (til oil)
  • for deep-frying Oil
  • for dusting Cornflour/ corn starch
  • to sprinkle Onion-garlic salt

Method

  1. Take mutton chops in a bowl. Add chilli sauce, dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, garlic, salt, pepper powder, vinegar, castor sugar and sesame oil and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Heat a non-stick pan. Add mutton chops along with the marinade and 1 cup water. Stir well and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 20-30 minutes. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
  3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Spread cornflour on a plate.
  4. Dust the mutton chops in the cornflour and deep-fry in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Sprinkle onion-garlic salt on top and serve hot.
