Ingredients list for Mozzarella Kulcha

  • 3 cups + for dusting Refined flour (maida)
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Castor sugar (caster sugar)
  • 5 tablespoons Butter
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 cup Milk
  • for greasing Oil
  • for brushi for basting Melted butter
  • Stuffing
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese grated
  • 5-6 Garlic cloves finely chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • ¼ cup Fresh coriander leaves chopped

Method

  1. Take flour in a bowl. Add baking powder, castor sugar, butter and salt and mix. Add milk and knead into a soft dough. Cover with damp muslin cloth and set aside for 10-15 minutes.
  2. To prepare stuffing, take cheese in another bowl. Add garlic, salt and coriander leaves and mix well.
  3. Preheat oven to 200° C.
  4. Grease a baking tray with some oil.
  5. Dust the dough with some flour, divide into equal portions and shape into balls.
  6. Divide the stuffing into equal number of portions as the dough.
  7. Dust the worktop with some flour and roll out each ball into small thick disc. Place a portion of the stuffing in the center of each disc, bring the edges together, press lightly to seal and shape into balls.
  8. Dust the worktop with some flour, place each ball, lightly press to flatten and roll out into small thick discs.
  9. Place the discs on the greased tray and lightly brush with some melted butter.
  10. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes.
  11. Halve and serve hot.
