Ingredients for Mawa Roll Recipe

  • Refined Flour

  • Khoya 1 cup

  • Salt 1 pinches

  • Baking powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Soda bicarbonate 1/2 teaspoon

  • Powdered sugar 1 1/2 tablespoons

  • Khoya/mawa 1/4 cup

  • Milk 1 cup

  • Ghee for greasing

  • Stuffing

  • Khoya/mawa 800 grams

  • Powdered sugar 10 tablespoons

  • Milk 1/4 cup

  • Green cardamom powder 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Pistachios roughly chopped 50

  • Almonds roughly chopped 50

Method

Step 1

For the pancakes, sift flour, salt, baking powder, soda bicarbonate and sugar into a bowl. Add khoya and mix. Add milk and mix well. Ensure that there are no lumps. Correct consistency by adding more milk. Heat ghee in a pan. Put a ladleful of the batter and spread to medium thickness.

Step 2

Cook till done on one side then flip and cook on the other side. Transfer onto a plate and set aside. Make more pancakes with the remaining batter in the same way. For the stuffing, heat a kadai, add khoya, milk and powdered sugar and cook till soft.

Step 3

Add cardamom powder, pistachios and almonds and mix. Take the mixture off the heat. Place a pancake on a plate. Spread a little of the filling and roll. Make more rolls in the same way. Cut the rolls at a slant in the middle and serve hot.
