Ingredients list for Masala Oats Scones

  • 40 grams Oats
  • 1¾ cups Refined flour
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoons crushed black peppercorns
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1½ cups milk
  • 2 teaspoon for garnishing Fresh parsley chopped
  • 4 tablespoons double cream
  • Juice of ¼ lemon

  1. Preheat oven at 180°C. Place a silicon sheet on a baking tray.
  2. Take butter in a bowl and smoothen it. Add salt, ¼ tsp crushed peppercorns and sugar. Mix well and add egg and beat well with an electric beater.
  3. Add refined flour and mix well. Add milk, Saffola Pepper and Spice Oats, 1 tsp chopped parsley and knead well into a soft dough.
  4. Dust worktop with little flour. Place dough on it and spread into a 2 inch thick disc. Using a small cookie cutter, cut out 8 small discs from it. These are scones.
  5. Place the scones on the baking tray and put in the preheated oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
  6. Whisk double cream in a bowl. Add lemon juice, remaining crushed peppercorns and 1 tsp chopped parsley and mix well.
  7. Remove scones from oven and place on a serving plate. Garnish with the cream mixture and chopped parsley and serve.
