By Sanjeev Kapoor 27 Jul 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Chicken, Coconut oil Cuisine Kerala Course Main Course Chicken Prep Time 16-20 minutes Cook time 21-25 minutes Serve 10 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Malabar Chicken Curry 1 kilogram Chicken cut into small pieces 2 tablespoons Coconut oil 2 tablespoons Coriander seeds 3 Dry red chilies 1 tablespoon Black peppercorns 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds (methi dana) 2 inch piece Cinnamon 1 cup Coconut grated 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste 2 Green chilli 10 Curry leaves 3 medium Onion sliced 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder to taste Salt 1/2 cup Fresh coriander leaves chopped Method Heat one tablespoon oil a non stick pan and addcoriander seeds, dry red chillies, black peppercorns, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, cinnamon stick and coconut till fragrant. Remove from flame and grind to a coarse paste adding sufficient quantity water. Heat oil in a non stick pan add ginger garlic paste, green chillies, curry leaves and saute for a minute. Add onions and saute till light brown. Add chicken pieces, turmeric powder, salt and grounded paste and ½ cup water and saute for a minute and let it cook till chicken is tender.
