By Sanjeev Kapoor 11 Aug 2015 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Green Papaya, Carrot Cuisine Kerala Course Main Course Vegetarian Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 11-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Advertisment Ingredients list for Green Papaya and Carrot Thoran 1 small Green Papaya peeled and cut into thin strips 2 small Carrot cut into thin strips 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds 2-3 Dried red chillies 2 Garlic cloves 1/2 cup Scraped coconut 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder 2 teaspoons Oil 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds 1/2 teaspoon Split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal) 8-10 Curry leaves 2 medium Onions finely chopped to taste Salt Method Advertisment Grind together cumin seeds, red chilies, garlic, coconut and turmeric powder to a coarse paste without using water. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add mustard seeds and once they splutter, add black grams and curry leaves and sauté for thirty seconds. Add onions and sauté till the onions turn golden. Add ground paste, papaya, carrot and salt, mix well and sauté for four to five minutes. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
